iPhone 5 Review: Thinner, Faster and more Powerful

The new iPhone from the Cupertino-based company is the "thinnest smartphone in the world." The changes in design has made it 20 percent lighter than its predecessor, iPhone 4S. It has an anodized aluminium finish with slant edges inlaid with glass.

The display cannot get better; the new iPhone 5 comes with a 4-inch Retina display and that has much better pixel resolution. It's taller than its previous versions, as suggested by earlier rumors, but the width remains the same.

The new iPhone is designed to support faster wireless Internet connectivity, including LTE and DC-HSDPA.

iPhone 5 comes with a powerful A6 chip that undoubtedly will make the smartphone experience more efficient and performance enhancer. Apple has also ramped up iPhone 5's battery life.

It also features an 8MP iSight camera and a front-facing camera that will let users record 720p HD video. The 8MP camera has features like panorama and dynamic low light mode, which will let you take better pictures. The lens of the 8MP camera is scratch-resistant sapphire crystal.

The new smartphone will come with new earpods. Its new reversible Lightning connector is smaller than the previous versions.

Another important feature the iPhone 5 will have is the iOS 6 that will have more than 200 features including Maps, Facebook integration and Passbook.

iPhone 5 will roll out in white & silver or black & slate colors.

The prices for the new iPhone remain the same as that of iPhone 4S, a happy note for buyers. It will cost $199 for 16GB, $299 for 32GB and $399 for 64GB.

"iPhone 5 is the most beautiful consumer device that we've ever created," said Philip Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing.

There will be an iOS 6 free update Sept. 19 and pre-orders will start from Sept 14.

iPhone 5 will be available in stores Sept. 21.
