Apple Fine Tunes its iTunes

Apple announced the new version of iTunes for Mac and PC at its press conference at San Francisco's Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater on Wednesday. This came along with Apple's other announcements of iPhone 5 and new iPods.

It will be an important update for iTunes, which has been immensely popular with users. The much-needed makeover will include iCloud integration, a redesigned player and a "simpler and cleaner" interface. All these changes were being made keeping "your favorite iTunes content at the forefront," Apple said.

The new iTunes will see full-window interface. Now, it is easier to use the library. The search feature is also tweaked to give the user results from music, movies, and TV shows.

At the Wednesday's event, Eddy Cue, Apple's senior vice president of Internet Software and Services, showed the split -screen features where users can see entire library while adding songs to the playlists.

Apple has also changed its MiniPlayer.

"The re-imagined MiniPlayer makes it easy to control your music with a small tool bar, you can skip to the next song or search for something new to play-all without having to open your library," Apple said. "Up Next is a fun new way to see what songs are coming up and queue songs or albums you want to hear next."

"We created iTunes because we love music and we're going back to our roots with an incredibly clean design that keeps your music at the forefront," Cue said.

The company said that iTunes contained a catalogue of more than 26 million songs, 700,000 apps, 190,000 TV episodes and over 45,000 films.

The new iTunes will be available in October.
