'Transformers 4' gets New Placeholder Logo; New Cast, New Story Rumored

"Transformers" movie series has been popular among fans and movie goers. The first film, based on the toy line created by Hasboro and Takara Tomy, hit the big screen in 2007. It was directed by Michael Bay, combining live-action with computer animation.

The "Transformers" franchise had two sequels to it, "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" released in 2009 and "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" released in 2011.

Another installment has been on the cards, dubbed "Transformers 4." Rumors suggest that there will not be anyone from the original all-star cast, while the new sequel will see redesigned robots.

The new placeholder logo has been unveiled at UBS Best of Americas 2012 Conference by Brian Goldner, Hasbro CEO, Collider reported.

The previous two sequels have made its audiences see enough of giant robot characters. Collider predicts, the new sequel, "Transformers 4" will have a new story with a new group of robots. This will help Hasbro, which saw toy sales stagnate around the release of "Transformers: Dark of the Moon," to reinvent funkier toy line.

Bay previously told to Collider, that the third sequel was not a reboot.

"I don't want to say reboot because then people will think we're doing a Spider-Man and starting from the beginning. We're not," he said. "We're taking the story that you've seen-the story we've told in three movies already-and we're taking it in a new direction."

Bay also said that the movie studios intended to cut $30 million from the "Transformers" budget. He also suggested that the movie might spend more time in space.

"Transformers 4" is expected to be released to theatres June 27, 2014.
