Although Apple Watch users are looking forward to the launch of the Pokemon Go mobile game, it may not actually release on their device. The unavailability of the Pokemon Go mini-game was said to be due to economic reasons.

Some speculate that the Pokemon Go mobile game would have actually been good for the Apple Watch.

MacWorld stated that having a companion Pokemon Go app on the Apple Watch could offer several opportunities and functions for players. The purpose of the mobile device is to minimize the total time spent on the iPhone.

While playing, "Pokemon Go," players are directed to various pocket monsters by showing paw prints. Poke Balls are released to catch the little creatures via the smartphone screen. A wrist device like the Apple Watch could help save the battery of a smartphone, as well as let players enjoy longer Pokemon Go game sessions.

A lot of players would be interested in purchasing a Pokemon Go smartwatch app.

Business Insider cited Macquarie Research analyst David Gibson in saying that "Pokemon Go" was jointly created by Nintendo, Pokemon Company and Niantic.

Nintendo's economic interest in the Pokemon Go mobile game is still uncertain at the moment, but they presume that out of every 100 units that they earn at the app store, Apple gets 30, Niantic gets 30, Pokemon Company gets 30, while Nintendo only gets 10.

However, the huge success of "Pokemon Go" allowed all interested parties to reap huge income since its release.

Polygon said that the Pokemon Go mobile game will not launch on the Apple Watch due to economic reasons.

In the meantime, Nintendo and Pokemon Company apparently prefers that gamers invest in the Pokemon Go Plus hardware, which is compatible to both iOS and Android, and costs $35, instead of buying a new Apple Watch.

In another Polygon report, Niantic Labs CEO John Hanke said that the Pokemon Go game happens in the real world, and players can interface using various mobile devices. All the fun in the game does not have to be contained on the small screen of a watch.

The developers the game deems it more lucrative to launch their own affordable hardware, instead of banking on the Apple Watch. The approach would also provide more balance among Android and iOS users and keep the Pokemon Go game from favoring only one platform.

More updates and details on the Pokemon Go mobile game are expected soon.
