The Pokemon Go craze continues and now it has gone as far as the mixed martial arts scene. Fighter Michael Cage scored a big over Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos but the most intriguing part is perhaps capping the victory with a Pokeball roll.
Adding insult to injury
Page won his bout at Bellator 158 in London following a vicious flying knee to Cyborg’s head. With Santos wincing in pain following the hit, “Venom” celebrated and was handed some stuff from outside the cage.
Michale Page was handed a cap with something in tow. It turned out to be a Pokeball which the fighter first showed to the crowd and rolled them towards Santos’ way. Based on the video you can check out below, the color Page added hardly gained the attention of the commentators.
Seeing how he finished off his opponent, it is not hard to understand why Page’s own Pokemon Go shenanigan hardly mattered. It did seem a bit off and hilarious per Game Rant but it does prove that Page is among the millions of fans hooked up to the Pokemon Go craze.
Another one for the Pokemon Go books
Page’s actions will unlikely matter now but will soon be when MMA and Pokemon Go fighters look back at how “Venom” capped off the scintillating win. The popular augmented reality game continues to take the world by storm, slowly becoming part of everyday life.
The Pokemon Go app continues to spread incrementally following initial releases in Australia, New Zealand and the United States. Italy, Spain and Portugal followed suit while Canada saw the official release happen today according to Forbes.
With the craze radiating fast, it isn’t surprising to hear that some servers have been going down. Server outages have been reported, tied up to bugs and overload seeing how Pokemon Go has become a smash hit.
Could Pokemon Go be the answer to Nintendo’s woes? It is certainly shaping up like it.
