Launched in 2011, Ubisoft Montpellier's legendary platform game, Rayman Origins, amazed people with its fascinating presentation and gameplay.
Rayman Origins is a platform game designed by Michel Ancel. He is known to adopt a certain degree of freedom in his gaming designs.
The game was not appreciated much, but those who played it have liked it.
People were not sure how the transition would work when Ubisoft announced Rayman Jungle Run Sept. 20, for iOS and Android devices.
Gaming website Kotaku played the game and believes it can be readily embraced by gamers as it is an "inventive re-working" of the original and "preserves the appeal of its source."
The game looks as good as it does on a console. The colorful characters and the music from Rayman's Origins can't get better. The main goal of the game is to collect 100 Lum creatures within a time-frame, using abilities like Jumping, Flying, Punching and Wall Running.
Every stage has nine levels. If you are able to grab all 100 Lums in one level, you will be able to unlock gems that open the Land of the Dead. The Land of the Dead is an extra area that has spike creatures and pits that are bottomless.
The levels in the game are structured like a maze, where Rayman is constantly running and you have to make him jump at the right time.
Your momentum can be cleverly controlled by watching out for whatever environmental elements you will have to face on your path.
Kotaku concludes that the game is a touchscreen version of Origins, is only housed in a newer platform and is as fun as Origins.
Rayman Jungle Run costs $2.99.
