“No Man’s Sky” is nearing its release date but some gamers just don’t have the patience to wait that long. Many have searched for more information or videos of the game online but someone managed to gamble and buy an alleged copy of the game.

The Big Gamble

Seeing that “No Man’s Sky” is set to come out on Aug. 9, it seems a bit odd to hear that there are already leaked copies of the game available. A certain Reddit user who goes by the handle Daymeeuhn got hold of the curious copy via eBay, spending around $1,302.95 for it.

The amount he spent was a bit out of the ordinary though he claims that nothing compares to satisfying his gaming appetite. But the climax came when he unboxed the game and placed it on his PlayStation 4. As it turned out, the game did work and the rest is history.

Spoiling the massive party

Though it remains to be seen how the copies of “No Man’s Sky” made their way out, the hefty price for one seems to be worth it for Daymeeuhn. He even posted the actual unboxing which you can see on the video below.

With the development, Sean Murray tweeted and urged players to try and hold back from spoiling the big Aug. 9 party. Aware of the leaks, Murray called on gamers to hold off at least for another week and enjoy “No Man’s Sky” for themselves.

The call of Murray for “No Man’s Sky” gamers is unlikely to be heeded with most eager to see what lies ahead with the ambitious space exploration game. Daymeeuhn may have spoiled the party but the good news is that other gamers don’t have to shell out an outrageous sum the way he did.

“No Man’s Sky” will initially debut for the PS4 on Aug. 9 with the PC version following after three days.
