The last time we tackled the MacBook Pro 2016 was tied up with the possible change involving ports. With several rumors about new changes surrounding the MacBook Pro 2016, it seems to be putting Apple in an unlikely position.
In that post, it was the shift to the usage of a USB-C port that could headline the device allegedly coming out this fall. In a separate post, we also noted how Apple has allowed its rival brands like Dell XPS 15 to move ahead of them. But as many techies perhaps know now, there are other brands challenging Apple for supremacy in the notebook line.
Xiaomi entered the fray with its Mi Notebook Air, something that was obviously designed to jab at the uncertain MacBook Air. It carried a mold fairly similar to the MacBook Air line though the kicker was that it costs a whole lot less with the cheapest priced at $525.
A lot of up and coming brand rivals such as Hewlett Packard (HP) or even Huawei. The HP Spectre X360 has been receiving rave reviews per Engadget. In short, Apple’s continued delay due to perfectionism may be backfiring.
Focusing more on iOS?
Forbes notes that Apple may be placing too much emphasis on its iOS-based products. The iPhone and the iPad are among its better performing products but so did the MacBook when they offered new features to back up the iconic notebook.
All that seemed to have changed with the iPad Pro, a variant which Tim Cook calls the “ultimate replacement to PC notebooks”. While this may be a shot at Microsoft’s Surface Pro, it technically affects their MacBook line as well.
Issues tied up to processors and compromised resources were also singled out on the long delays made by Apple for the MacBook. Being in the business for so long, the Cupertino company can easily alleviate that by outsourcing or looking at other options.
It may be turning out as a change in focus for Apple to its other lines. But doing so places the MacBook line close to jeopardy. Hence, a MacBook Pro 2016 coming could happen before the year is over though Apple will have to accept the fact that they are no longer the top dog in the notebook genre.
