‘PlayStation Plus Free Games’ Latest News & Update: August Free Offers Now Live

PlayStation Plus subscribers can now get hold of the August free games over at the PlayStation store. There will be a total of six games that customers can get their hands on.

Among the titles up for grabs include “Rebel Galaxy” and “Tricky Towers” for the PS4. PS3 owners can check out “Retro/Grade” and “Yakuza 5” while PSP/ PS Vita compatible owners can try out “Patapon 3”. “Ultratron” is another game that is available across all game consoles.

The free games comprise a mix of titles offering a space-combat game, a side-scrolling shooter, and Yakuza in the mix, GameSpot reported. The games are now live over at the PlayStation Store for folks who want to get one.

Interesting offers for August

Of the game titles, there are a couple that should be good finds. That includes “Rebel Galaxy”, space simulation game that originally came out last January for the PS4. Unfortunately it may be overshadowed by the expected release of a bigger space exploration game, “No Man’s Sky” due out on Aug. 9.

“Yakuza 5” should be another interesting game to consider. It originally came out three years ago where players venture out across Japan.

Tetris-crazed gamers can look forward to “Tricky Towers”, a puzzle game that comes with a slight twist. Blocks are stacked like that on Tetris but can be interrupted with some magic casting.

“Retro/Grade” is another interesting find, something that first came out on the PS3. It is a reverse-shooter game that picks off some game play mechanics from the famed “Guitar Hero” (with reference to the energy beams dodging enemy crafts).

The new game titles replace the old PlayStation Plus titles for July and will be available the whole month of August. They replace the old batch of titles that include “Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood”, “Fat Princess”, “Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines” and “Prince of Persia: Revelation”.
