Galaxy S3 is Best-Selling Device in US Announced T-Mobile USA

Though Apple's iPhone 5 has been stealing the limelight since its Sept. 12 launch, staunch rival Galaxy S III has not been left far behind. T-Mobile USA announced Friday that Samsung's Galaxy S III was its best-selling device.

The U.S.-based carrier T-Mobile USA tweeted Friday, "Did you know the Samsung Galaxy S III is@TMobile's all-time best-selling device? RT if you love your device!"

T-Mobile USA did not provide any specific sales figures regarding the number of Galaxy S IIIs sold. However, tech analysts speculate that it must have crossed one million unit sales, Mobile & Apps said.

This is good news for Samsung fans. The news comes along with information about Samsung's record Q3 profits surpassing the estimates of analysts. It profited $7.3 billion in three months ending September, a jump of 91 percent. The record profits have largely resulted out of the company's Galaxy lineup.

Many powerful and user-friendly smartphones have flooded the current smartphone market. Cellphone manufacturers like Apple, Nokia, LG and HTC have been unable to keep pace with the Android-based Galaxy S III's popularity and sales.

Galaxy S III is expected to be updated from Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich to the latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system, a Samsung list states. The list includes names of carriers like Sprint, AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile and U.S. Cellular, which will be applicable for the Jelly Bean update, Mobile & Apps reported.

T-Mobile USA customers are eagerly awaiting the Jelly Bean update. However, no information has been provided as yet. The update is sure to give a boost to T-Mobile's Galaxy S III sales.
