Baseball season has gone full-throttle as we head into October. Sony has offered to slash prices of its video game MLB 12: The Show, just in time for playoffs.
The PlayStation 3 version is now being offered at $29.99 while the Vita version is a worthy $19.99. This price cut was revealed at the PlayStation Blog.
"This price drop means owners of both the PS3 and the PS Vita hardware can buy both games for less than $50 combined, giving them the ability to enjoy cross-platform functionality by saving and continuing a single Season, Franchise or Road to The Show mode on either platform," the company said in its blog.
Players can use it as an advantage, since the game's cross-platform features at a combined $50, which is less than its release price in March.
ESPN has teamed up with MLB 12: The Show's designers to simulate the playoffs' results.
The ESPN simulation expects that the Cincinnati Reds will make a 3-0 clean sweep over the San Francisco Giants. The Washington Nationals will win over Louis Cardinals with 3-2 series victory. Though the Oakland A's gave a shocker to the baseball world this season, they will not be able to hold up against the powerful Detroit Tigers lineup, who will win 3-2 against the A's. Baltimore Orioles make a comeback after losing to New York Yankees in Game 1, beating the Yanks 3-1.
In the NLCS, Washington Nationals dominate Cincinnati Reds, beating them 4-0. Orioles gear up to fight Nationals, defeating Detroit Tigers 4-0. The playoffs are simulated by San Diego Studios.
In May, Metacritic ranked the PS 3 version of the game 87/100 and PS-Vita 75/100.
