'Justice League' Movie Casting Rumors: Armie Hammer to Play Batman?

Armie Hammer of the "The Social Network" fame is back on the Warner Bros. radar for the role of Batman for the movie, "Justice League."

Moviehole reported in an exclusive story that Hammer had earlier been cast in a failed Justice League movie in 2007, which was to be directed by George Miller. The movie never took off though the movie was in pre-production.

"We were about to start shooting when the writer's strike happened at the end of 2007," Hammer explains in a recent interview to MTV. "it's a shame that nobody got to see all of the work that got put into it."

When asked if he loved getting into the Batman suit, he said, "I loved it. But I didn't even get a picture of it."

Hammer will also play the lead in "The Lone Ranger" alongside Johnny Depp who will play Tonto.

According to a Moviehole source, Hammer is "back on WB's radar" to play the Caped Crusader for the "Justice League" movie and not for the solo Batman movie.

Christian Bale won't be getting into Batman's suit and Warner Bros. plans to introduce a younger actor. Earlier this year, there were talks about Taylor Kitsch being a contender for Batman but after his poor performance in "Savages" and "John Carter" this year, Hammer seems to be a better choice.

Joseph Gordon Levitt will not be the next Batman or any Batman, Moviehole reported.

"Justice League" will unite characters like Superman, Batman, The Flash, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and Martian Manhunter. But the casting for the movie has not yet started.

The release for the "Justice League" is reportedly slated for the summer of 2014.
