Nintendo NX Latest News & Update: Game Cartridges Make Uncanny Return In 2017

The Nintendo NX is expected to debut by March, 2017, the company’s new ticket in the game console market.

Details on the Nintendo NX have so far been limited with the company opting to keep a tight lid. Fact of the matter is that the game console wasn’t even on hand at E3. Its absence was explained by Shigeru Miyamoto, baring that the move was part of the company’s plans to derail "copycats." Much of that was covered in a previous post which you can read here.

Game cartridges return

With limited information on the Nintendo NX, the obvious recourse is the rumor mill. Word ranging from being a portable device and something that would accommodate the use of game cartridges have come out, a claim that even game developers have confirmed.

Gaming companies like EA and Ubisoft are believed to be releasing NX games once the Nintendo NX comes out in the open, raising the bar on what to expect for the Japanese company’s next gaming solution. Among the popular game titles reportedly set to be available for the Nintendo NX include “Animal Crossing” and “Fire Emblem”. “Pokemon Go” is a game title expected to join the mix plus famed Nintendo games like Zelda and Mario according to MCV.

Lead time for game developers

The long wait has been hit in the past months with rivals Microsoft and Sony stealing the spotlight. The tight lid on the future of the Nintendo NX was criticized though it may be with good reason.

According to Forbes, all this could be part of giving game developers the proper allowance to get their game versions ready. The Wii U faltered and the lack of preparations of gaming companies was seen a sa major reason for its failure. Nintendo somehow tries to avert the same disaster, giving companies ample time to ready their game titles up to March, 2017.
