Bethesda To Release Neo/Xbox Scorpio-Style Hardware Upgrades Soon?

Bethesda To Release Neo/Xbox Scorpio-Style Hardware Upgrades Soon?

Sony drew both positive and negative feedback from the touted PlayStation 4.5 while Microsoft made it clear that they would rather release a totally new game console. So instead, the company has set the Xbox One S rather than a ".5" console.

Either way, seeing mid-cycle hardware upgrades may or may not be beneficial on the part of gamers but the boosted specs can make a difference. And Bethesda VP Pete Hines seems to be taking that into consideration when asked to comment on the move.

"I think that kind of stuff is great," Bethesda marketing VP Pete Hines tells GameSpot during an interview at QuakeCon via Game Spot. "I mean, having more robust hardware is ... We're big fans of it."

Seeing that these moves are nothing but ‘talk’, Hines chose not to elaborate. But overall, the obvious is that games would look and perform better with some tweaks. Other than that, he doesn’t seem to mind adding special versions for either a PS4 Neo or even the Xbox Scorpio.

More Work, No Problem

Assuming that these mid-level upgrades do come out, Bethesda and other gaming companies seem to be ready for it. It would entail additional work on their end though the consensus is that these are ways to offer the game better.

In short, seeing a version for the PS4 Neo and/or the Xbox Scorpio works both ways. Gamers are given options to play the game on the console of choice which technically should be the case.

Aside from Bethesda, other companies are most likely to welcome the idea. That includes Electronic Arts or even Take-Two Interactive. Other game developing companies are likely to say the same.

Microsoft and/or Sony have yet to reveal their new plans though the bottom line is coming out with game consoles for consumers to ponder on. With the quality and specs growing in requirements, hardware upgrades are crucial moving forward.
