Mountain View-based Google has rolled out a new look for its mobile webpage.
"Now, when you tap the new menu button in the upper left you'll see a sidebar with other popular Google products, helping you get to them quickly and easily. If you've upgraded to Google+, you'll also see your Google+ notifications and the share button," Google has said in a post.
Now, tabs like News, Images and Places on Google's home page will be hidden on the left hand side of the sidebar. The screen top just contains the links to web and image search, and acts as a Google+ notification area.
This overhaul is refined and gives users easier access to Google's services. The "hidden sidebar" is already a feature in Google+, Facebook, Spotify and Evernote, Endgadget points out. The design is a big improvement over its earlier mobile version.
Google has been working on overhauling its looks and services for months. The company said it added numerous new features like virtual keyboards, transliteration tools and input method editors (IMEs) to its Gmail mail service. The new feature lets users change languages with one click.
Early this year, Google introduced Google Drive, which lets users store information or data on cloud. The service is available to anyone who has a Google account. Users get 5GB of free storage space. Google Docs has been integrated into Google Drive which lets users share, edit and access Office documents and PDFs.
As part of its spring cleaning, the company closed down as many as 60 services like AdSense for Feeds, Classic Plus, Storage, Spreadsheet Gadgets and Places Directory, Tech2 has reported.
