Ragnarok Odyssey Release Date: Role-Playing Game to Reach North America for PlayStation Vita on Oct. 30

It will be a busy October for PlayStation Vita owners, with another game entering the portable gaming world. Publisher Xseed Games officially announced that the action-Role Playing Game, Ragnarok Odyssey, will be released in North America Oct. 30.

The game is based on the MMORPG Ragnarok Online universe. Players battle it out in a mythical world where humans and giants battle for supremacy due to the death of all gods. The story is based on Norse mythology. Players advance with the story, and as the journey progresses, they will get to see new areas opening up.

The game is fast-paced and there is a lot of emphasis on melee attack. Gameplay is co-operative with four players playing in tandem.

The characters are customized, and players can choose between six job classes that can be changed according to the quests. With the completion of each quest, characters get an upgrade, upping their combat effectiveness.

The standard edition will cost $39.99 available through retail or downloadable from the PlayStation Network. The deluxe Mercenary Edition costs $49.99 that includes extras like pack of 10 Monster Cards, slides, a soundtrack CD containing 32 songs and a 96-page Mercenary Guide.

Ragnarok Odyssey is developed by GungHo Online Entertainment. A European release has not yet been announced.

The game was introduced in Japan in February, where it sold more than 100,000 units.
