'Pokemon GO' Cheats, Tips & Tricks: Latest Android & iOS Update Features Nearby Tracker 'Sightings'

"Pokemon GO" fans all over the world have become thoroughly disappointed when Niantic decided to update the widely popular game and in turn, prohibit access to third party apps that help gamers better advance through its levels. But even better news comes via a new update that enables a tracking feature.

Don't get too excited, however, as Niantic has only chosen a select group of "Pokemon GO" users to take the new tracker update featuring a "Sightings" panel in the UI. The description for the Version 1.3.0 for iOS and 0.33.0 for Android reads, "We’re currently testing a variation of the ‘Nearby Pokémon’ feature with a subset of users. During this period you may see some variation in the nearby Pokémon UI."

To clarify, not all "Pokemon GO" users will be given access to test out the new "Sightings" feature. But for those who are hoping to land a test drive on the new nearby tracker, you have to be using the latest version of the game. If you already are, check the app store to see if there are any updates (for those of you update manually). Once the app is updated, check out the Nearby pane to find out of the Nearby panel now also houses a "Sightings" section. If you do, you're in luck because this means you have been chosen to get access to the enhanced version that Niantic is testing out among a select group of users.

Heavy reports that some users have taken to Reddit to share their experiences with "Pokemon GO"'s new "Sightings" feature, while some have commented that it's being rolled out in more iOS users than Android users. Meanwhile, VG247 lists all the changes occurring in the game's 0.33.0 (Android) and 1.3.0 (ioS) update, which include the highly awaited battery saving mode for iOS users. It also includes key art of three "Pokemon GO" team leaders.

Meanwhile, the new update also includes a safety feature in which the "Pokemon GO" app asks the user if he or she is a passenger or driver, if the app notices that he or she is travelling at a higher speed. This warns users to not play and drive. Check out the full list of updates at VG247.
