‘Silent Hill: Revelation 3D' Trailer Revealed, Director Shares Movie Insights (VIDEO)

Movie adaptations of video games are the current rage now. One such film is "Silent Hill: Revelation 3D" which is based on the popular video game Silent Hill 3.

Director of the movie, Michael J. Bassett, along with the producers and actors spoke at the movie at New York Comic Con on Friday. Fans were treated to new footages from the upcoming movie.

Audience at NYCC were shown the 3D trailer of the movie, followed by never-before-seen "making of" featurette and a spoiler warning showing Heather Mason freeing a young woman, IGN reported.

Basset revealed to the audience of his love of Silent Hill games, its sound designs and the creation of monsters from corrupted human form.

"The adaptation of a game shouldn't be a slavish retelling of the story. With a game, you're making choices, with a movie you're being told a story and carried on an adventure," he said, The Verge reported.

Bassett said, games developer Konami had given him a free hand to change or interpret the game so that it helps the movie.

The movie will feature Mannequin Monster, Pyramid Head, the Missionary, Nurses, Valtiel, and the Leonard Wolf monster. The Seal of Metatron will also be part of the movie.

Gamers will be able to recognize many things in the movie.

"When we made the movie we tried to put some Easter eggs in there... There are visuals that are frame-for-frame from the third game," Bassett said. "When you watch the movie you will see some characters from the game too, there is a cameo at the end that will rock your socks."

Adelaide Clemens and Kit Harington star in the upcoming movie being produced by Samuel Hadida.

The movie also features Genre icons Carrie-Anne Moss ("The Matrix") and Malcolm McDowell ("Halloween," "A Clockwork Orange").

Clemens plays the character of Heather Mason. Though in the shadows of dark forces forever, she and her dad have always been ahead of them , but, she has never understood them fully.

On the eve of her 18th birthday, unexpected events unfold after her father disappears. She discovers her origin and her real identity and is taken to an alternate dimension in Silent Hill.

This movie is a sequel to the 2006 movie "Silent Hill." The movie will be released on Oct. 26.
