' Dead or Alive 5' Characters Get New Costumes (PHOTOS)

The characters of Japan-based Team Ninja's fighting game Dead or Alive 5 will be getting new outfits. They will be available for download Tuesday, The Verge reported.

The download will bring bartender britches, sultry feline outfits, and casual overalls to the popular Dead or Alive franchise. The game's publisher Tecmo Koei released three costume packs. Out of 20 characters, 11 playable characters will receive a new wardrobe.

The "Kitty Pack" lets characters like Helena, Christie, Tina and Lisa dress themselves with cat ears and sleeved corsets. The "What a Character" pack lets Hitomi and Mila German get dressed in barmaid clothes. And lastly, the "Special Set" gives Leifang and Kasumi new casual outfits and a revealing outfit for Lisa.

The cost of the costume pack is $4.99, or 400 Microsoft Points, depending on the platform. As a part of the Round 2 Costumes bundle, a player can buy all three packs and avail discounts, costing $12.99 or 1040 Microsoft Points.

Xbox Live Marketplace is already offering the Round 2 Costumes Full Set, while it will be made available at the PlayStation Store next week, The Verge reported. DoA 5 was released September 2012 for both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Dead or Alive 5 is set two years after the events of Dead or Alive 4 and the destruction of the DOATEC TriTower HQ. Helena Douglas, leader of the DoA tournament, is tasked to rebuild DOATEC for a peaceful end.

The game is rated "T for Teen" by the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB), meaning the game may be suitable for ages 13 and older.
