‘The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’ Release Date, News & Update: Game of the Year Edition Confirmed

Last month, Game & Guide reported on the possible release of a special ‘game of the year’ edition of “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” as mentioned by game director Konrad Tomaszkiewcz. Such came about after queries were thrown his way and the best he could do was tell gamers that one was indeed in the works. If you missed out on that, you can read on that here.

Now everything has been made official with an official trailer release from CD Projekt Red. “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” Game of the Year Edition will be out Aug. 30, 2016 via Game Rant.

While the official release date for “The Witcher 3: Wildhunt” game of the year edition is welcome news, the next thing that gamer would want to know is the price. Unfortunately that is one thing that has yet t be announced and hopefully it would not exceed the original cost which is about $60.

The “The Witcher 3: Wildhunt” game of the year edition bundle could help give folks an idea. As seen in the trailer (watch below), the package contains over 150 hours of gameplay to the RPG open world.

Aside from the base game, buyers also get the add-ons – “Blood and Wine”, its original expansion. Could the expansion be the bonus for this offer? Jacking up the price could be possible but such may hinder demand. “The Witcher 3” has already generated big revenue for CD Projekt but offering a bundle for the sake of added profit seems a bit off.

That is one interesting angle to “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” Game of the Year edition, a collectible that hardcore gamers will certainly want to have. But with no idea on how much it would cost, demand forecast for the game is a bit sketchy at this point.

While that is on the table, the regular “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” is currently available for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One. If the price is right, the game of the year edition could be a good buy.
