Jamie Foxx In Talks To Play Electro In 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2'

Actor Jamie Foxx is in talks to play the villainous character of Electro in "The Amazing Spider-Man 2."

In the prequel,  "The Amazing Spider-Man," the post credits sequence featured a shadowy figure emerging and asking villain Curt Connos (Rhys Ifans) who is in jail , whether Peter Parker knows the truth about his parents, and then disappearing in a flash of lightning.

Electro (real name Max Dillon) is a Spider-Man villain dating back to 1964. He started as an electrical engineer who gained the powers of a human electrical capacitor due to a freak lighting strike," Screen Rant reported.

Foxx himself commented on the news story "(@iamjamiefoxx) Dressed up as Electro for Halloween last night. Costume fits well."

Just a month back it was confirmed that Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone will reprise their roles in the "The Amazing Spider-Man" sequel. It was also confirmed that Marc Webb will be directing the movie, according to Variety.

"I think Jamie Foxx is electrifying! I think Jamie Foxx is one of the best actors around today. He's such a great character actor and he's a really brilliant guy. I would love to work with him and you'll be hearing more on that shortly, I'm sure," said director Marc Webb to ComingSoon.

"I like Electro. I'm fascinated by Norman Osborn and the different inflections of him. And Harry. Mary Jane and Gwen are always interesting to me," Webb added.
