'Pokemon Sun and Moon' Latest News & Updates: Four Newest Pokemon Characters Revealed [Watch Video]

Four new "Pokemon Sun and Moon" characters were recently revealed. These were featured at the Pokemon World Championships, showcasing very unique forms and abilities.

TechCrunch noted that the first new creature in the "Pokemon Sun and Moon" video was Crabcrawler, a blue and purple crustacean with rounded claws that seemed to be effective in both cutting and clobbering. Crabcrawler has the Hyper Cutter and Iron Fist ability. The second creature in the "Pokemon Sun and Moon" clip was Sandygast, a ghost/ground-type Pokemon that looked like a pile of sand with a mini shovel on its head. It had the Water Compaction ability.

Shortly, the "Pokemon Sun and Moon" video presented Palossand, the evolved version of Sandygast, which looked like a sandcastle with the mini shovel still on top. During battle, Sandygast's defense rose after a water attack, followed by a tornado-like attack on its opponent.

The next scene in the "Pokemon Sun and Moon" video showed Palossand executing a purple ghost-like attack against its enemy. The fourth creature in the "Pokemon Sun and Moon" clip was Stufful, a normal/fighting-type Pokemon with the Fluffy and Klutz ability. The creature looked like a combination of a pink dog and a teddy bear. It sent a wave attack against its opponent.

The four new "Pokemon Sun and Moon" creatures will join several others that are native to the Alola region. The mysterious island will be the location of the upcoming "Pokemon Sun and Moon" on 3DS systems, to officially release on Nov. 18, 2016.

Previously, a number of interesting creatures were showcased to come in "Pokemon Sun and Moon" like Wishiwashi, the Alolan forms of Meowth, Raichu and Marowak. A lot of Pokemon in the area seem to be either dark or water-type, but the recent video suggests that there will also be some ghost-types.

In other Pokemon-related news, the Pokemon trading card game will also have new "GX" series cards, which will bring special attacks to the games. The GX-specific Pokemon cards will arrive with the "Pokemon Sun and Moon" series. More updates and details on "Pokemon Sun and Moon" are expected soon.
