Call of Duty ELITE Premium Subscriptions Extended Until March 2013 For Free

Activision, the publisher of Call of Duty, is extending premium subscriptions to Call of Duty ELITE until March 2013, free of cost.

Premium members will now be able to access Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

"We hope you continue to enjoy the service and all the great features you are used to through your extended access period, and look forward to seeing you online," said Activision, as reported by 360.MMGN.

"We will be extending your access between 7:00 AM and 1:00 PM EST on November 8, 2012. You may notice a temporary Call of Duty ELITE service interruption during this time."

"Your new extended access will not be visible when viewing your account details through Xbox LIVE or PlayStation Network. Rest assured, your access has been extended."

Call of Duty ELITE premium services will be free to all players starting with the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. The game is slated for launch Nov. 13.

DLCs were made a part of ELITE last year with Modern Warfare 3. The DLCs are made available either individually or collectively via "Season Pass". Individual DLCs will cost 1200 Microsoft Points or $19, while all four DLCs will cost 4000 Microsoft Points. Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 DLC Map Packs will be available at a later date.

The ELITE service was launched officially Nov. 8, 2011, and by Oct. 30, 2012, the service gained more than 1.3 million subscribers.  Premium members get DLCs, daily competition with virtual and real prizes, players clans can be levelled up, pro analysis and strategies and Elite TV. Call of Duty ELITE has a console app for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game, a mobile app and provides Facebook integration.
