The state is practically set for an iPhone 7 and 7 Plus revelation on Sept. 7, though some are hoping for something more than the latest Apple flagship.
Looking over the rumor mill in previous weeks, some are hoping to see something else like a MacBook Pro 2016 or even an Apple Watch 2. How about another variant like the iPhone 6 SE?
The iPhone 6 SE is up in the grapevine once more thanks to some leaked photos. Apple Insider was quick to take note that the photo was poorly made, taking notice of the alignment of the ‘SE’ tag to the iPhone 6 text. In short, the authenticity of the leaked photos is severely in question and seen as nothing more than to stir up some hype.
'SE' for special attention?
The recent photo isn’t exactly surprising. The web has hosted several other (illegal) branding for the sake of attention. For those who are unaware, attaching the SE tag is meant to point to a higher-end product than the usual entry level version.
The last product to use it was the iPhone 5 SE, Apple’s budget-friendly device that did fairly well. And as one would guess, there will be others who could be interested in one though Apple has not revealed plans to date. The story could be different in 2017 meaning the remaining months of 2016 will solely be about the iPhone 7 and the 7 Plus.
There is an air of uncertainty on the consumer reception of the iPhone 7 which is expected to come out with toned-down specs. Everyone is aware that a lot of the major changes will be saved for the iPhone 8 next year.
Just the same, the iPhone 7 is still expected to sell though not as heavily as its predecessors. It is still the latest product from Apple and waiting for a year may be too much for avid iPhone users.
