New Features Coming To Guild Wars 2

ArenaNet's Guild Wars 2 will be getting more features in the upcoming Lost Shore update.

It will have an all-new dungeon called Fractals of the Mist, which contains nine mini-dungeons called fractals.

The developer said it has found that many players have hit the wall achieving their set of Exotic gear too quick from what the company had predicted, said Linsey Murdock, game designer Guild Wars 2.

"Adding item progression is a delicate process normally undertaken in an expansion, but we feel it's important to strive to satisfy the basic needs of our players sooner rather than later," said Murdock on the company's Web site.

Murdock said that the game will get a challenging new combat mechanics to end-game content.

The first among the end-game content is Agony, a new monster that will make the progress of players difficult, and to beat that, an upgrade called Infusions must be acquired.

Different types of Infusions Offensive, Defensive and Omni Infusions of Fine rarity will be introduced November.

Ascended: New Rarity Type

Ascended gears are necessary, as the Infusion slots can only be found in Ascended.

Players will be able to acquire Ascended Rings in the Fractals of the Mists dungeon.

Murdock said that in November, the company is adding the first level of Infusions, Ascended Rings and Back slots. More Legendary items have been promised.

Guild Wars 2 is a fantasy-based MMORPG. The story is set in the world of Tyria.

As of Sept. 13, the game's peak concurrency exceeds 400,000 players.

"We're continually fine-tuning the game to deliver the polished experience that our players expect, and we're already working on new adventures and experiences to introduce into this truly dynamic online world," said Mike O'Brien, president and co-founder ArenaNet, in September.
