'Destiny: Rise of Iron' DLC Latest News & Updates: New Content Drop Includes Ornaments; Here's What They Can Do To Your Armor

The latest expansion to the Destiny franchise carried with it several revamped features that will surely revolutionize how a player goes out and about in the game. Among the most exciting new features for the latest expansion is the potential for new equipment, which includes, armor, arms and a new system. It has been revealed that a new system will give players better control over the appearance of the avatar and the armory.

Gamerant reports that there is a new class of item called ornaments which can be applied to some armor sets and exotic weapons. They are somehow similar to the Chroma modifiers, which were introduced earlier, but they have more profound enhancements to stock gear.

VG247 says that developer Bungie has not revealed too much about these ornaments, since they do not want to spoil the fun involved in exploring them when "Destiny: Rise of Iron" comes out. All that it known for now is that there will be 22 ornaments and they will provide several options as to how a player chooses to use them for customization.

There will be three armor sets which have been currently confirmed to support the use of the said 22 ornaments. These include the Iron Lords set, the one which is awarded to a player for conquering the Trials of Osiris, and that one for completing the new raid which will be included in the expansion.

It is important to consider that shaders will not affect the coloration of ornament effects in any manner in the game. While having the modifiers equipped will cause some modifications to the base armor, other components which are added will not be changed at all.

Gamerant also finds some things unclear about the addition of ornaments, as it is not yet known what the number 22 actually means in practical terms. It is however theorized that individual ornaments will not be unique to each piece of gear for each class, since this would already account for either 12 or 15 of them. It is already confirmed that weapons Nemesis, Monte Carlo, Hawkmoon, Star, and Khvostov will all have two ornaments each, for a sum total of eight.
