‘Clash of Clans’ 2016 Latest News & Update: Supercell To Compete Head On With 'Pokemon GO'?

The "Clash of Clans" update coming this September is rumored to be massive. Just how massive? Well, massive enough that it could introduce changes into the "Clash of Clans" gameplay that might give it a fighting chance against the flavor of the month Niantic's Pokemon GO.

'Clash of Clans' Losing Gamer Base

This should not come as a surprise but Supercell's once undisputed king of mobile games "Clash of Clans' have been losing player base lately. While player attrition is not something new, it appears that the culprit this time is Niantic Lab's highly popular Pokemon GO.

Parent Herald reports that a large decline in the "Clash of Clans" player base happened last July. Incidentally, this is also the period that Niantic Labs introduced its highly immersive augmented reality mobile game Pokemon GO.

Supercell Fights Back With Coming 'Clash of Clans' Update This September

The dip in "Clash of Clans" gamer based could be attributed to normal user disinterest factors. However, it seems that Supercell wants to cover all its bases and wants the game in top fighting form with the planned "Clash of Clans" update coming this September.

For instance, it is rumored that a host of innovative features and a more immersive gameplay are to be dished out in the coming September "Clash of Clans" update. While Supercell wants the details underwraps, reports hint that the coming update would introduce new ways to acquire gems in the game, reports Mobi Picker.

August 'Clash of Clans' Update

The upcoming September "Clash of Clans" update will be on top of the host of upgrades that were just recently introduced in the game's August update. The "Clash of Clans" site announced that the August changes include increase of cannon damage for better defensive capability, the triggering of air traps by healers, reduction of miner speed movement as well as some tweaks in the attacker deployment options.

However, many are saying that the August "Clash of Clans" update is just too little to make a difference in the game and address the trend of decreasing gamer base. Gamers are hoping that the more inclusive September update will address issues more effectively and hopefully bring some players back into the fold

But compete directly with Niantic Lab's Pokemon GO with the September "Clash of Clans" update? Hmmm, let's wait and see. Stay tuned to GamenGuide for the latest "Clash of Clans" news and updates!
