'Battlefield 1' Beta Release Date, News & Updates: EA Games Experience Server Issues; What's Been Fixed & What's Still Out

A number of "Battlefield 1" Beta players have been complaining about server issues. Apparently, several other Electronic Arts (EA) games are also having the same problem.

GameSpot revealed that the "Battlefield" Beta launched on Sept. 1, 2016, but several players immediately noticed that there were server problems. People reported that they were unable to connect on all available platforms, namely PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The official Battlefield account confirmed that they already received complaints about the server and have investigated the problem.

EA announced on Twitter that "Battlefield" Beta lis currently experiencing an outage. EA games, services and support may be affected, but they are working to resolve the server issues as quickly as possible. They promised to update players with more information as soon as they have it. The server outage may have been caused by Activision removing the cables out of a server farm during the Call of Duty World Championships.

In a subsequent EA tweet, the game publisher stated that all issues affecting EA games, services and support have already been fixed. They proceeded to thank gamers for continuing to play their games. "Battlefield 1" beta players seem to be enjoying the game at present, after the connection was restored.

GameRant reported that previously, game developer DICE confirmed that "Battlefield 1," a World War I shooter will feature an open beta with EA Insiders getting early access. News of "Battlefield 1" having an open multiplayer beta surfaced in May 2016. The "Battlefield 1" beta test features maps, classes and loadout options, among others.

Some "Battlefield 1" gamers consider the beta test as a demo. Since the beta version of "Battlefield 1" became available just a few weeks before the actual release of the official game, there may not be much to improve. According to other players, beta tests serve more like marketing tools instead of a way to get feedback from gamers.

Nevertheless, there is still a lot to look forward to in "Battlefield 1." The game will launch on Oct. 21, 2016 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. More updates and details are expected soon.
