‘Overwatch’ Sombra Latest News & Update: Timer Speed Indicates an October Reveal; Sombra Craze Losing Steam

"Overwatch" fans are eagerly waiting for new character Sombra to show up. "A Moment in Crime" website has reportedly hinted that the mysterious character would show up on Oct. 16 or 17 this year. The site currently shows a timer, little below 25 percent as of press time. An "Overwatch" observer has estimated that the pointer moves 0.0038 percent every three minutes.

However, no "Overwatch" Sombra update has appeared till now. YouTuber Rhykker has uploaded a video explaining where fans currently are in the Sombra ARG, the alternate reality game. Rhykker noticed that the site's source code seems to indicate the timer in the "A Moment in Crime" website is being updated manually.

However, it is also possible that an outside script updating the site's timer is being used. Rhykker believes that the "Overwatch" Sombra update will appear in October at the latest, considering the consistency of the timer, writes iTech Post.

The Oct. 16 date is a mere speculation at this point, especially in the absence of any official information. If the timer speeds up or slows down, this date will change. Up to now, "Overwatch" fans know very little about Sombra. Neither her age nor her real name is known. It is rumored that Sombra is Mexican and operating in Dorado.

Apparently, Reaper knows Sombra well. She is believed to be a cryptography expert and a computer hacker. It's high time that Blizzard Entertainment hurries things up a bit and reveal Sombra. The progress of "Overwatch" Sombra countdown is excruciatingly slow and this has made fans impatient. They will be thoroughly disappointed if it turns out to be a vague clue instead of an actually character reveal.

Blizzard had earlier sent out codes under the guise of Sombra to tease fans of the character's inclusion. Sombra is widely-speculated to be the first Stealth hero in "Overwatch." The Sombra codes were like a conversation between her and the fan base. Unfortunately the cracked codes did not reveal anything significant except skulls and Spanish sentences, reports The Bitbag.
