'Batman: Return To Arkham' News: Bundle Gets New October Release Date

If you've been hankering for a return to the glorious Arkham Batman games developed by Rocksteady Studios, then you're in luck: "Batman: Return To Arkham," the bundle that remasters the first two games in the series, is finally getting greenlit for an October release. The release was originally supposed to be July 26, but developer Virtuous Games needed more time to put the finishing touches.

GameSpot reports that "Batman: Return To Arkham," coming on October 21, will feature the complete set of "Arkham Asylum" and "Arkham City" and all the DLC that original developer Rocksteady Games released for it. The remastered versions will be running on Unreal Engine 4, whereas the originals were made with Unreal Engine 3.

Virtuous Games, the studio remastering the two games for "Batman: Return To Arkham," also remastered "Heavy Rain" for the PlayStation 4. They also contributed to the development of other games for the platform, as well as "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."

The remastered releases that "Batman: Return To Arkham" is bringing players heralds the return of what are arguably the best video game adaptations of the caped crusader. Both Arkham games received pretty much universal praise from the games industry for how well they played, and how well they immersed the player in actually being Batman. The third game in the series, "Arkham Origins," isn't included in the bundle as it was not made by Rocksteady, and subsequently did not enjoy the same favor the first two received.

Meanwhile, last year's "Arkham Knight," the latest-gen release in the series also developed by Rocksteady Games as well as their last, was also a good game, but was marred by so many major bugs, especially on the highly controversial PC version. "Batman: Return To Arkham" has no listed price yet, but it will be available on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
