'Battlefield 1' Latest News & Updates: DICE Taking Requests For New Beta Map

The much-awaited "Battlefield 1" open beta phase is coming to an end soon a little around a week right after EA launched it, and it's probably a good thing as by now, most players would be tired of having to play only one map, the Sinai Desert. However, it seems as though developer DICE could possibly be adding a new map to play in for the last few days of the test phase.

In an exchange with a fan on the official DICE Twitter account, the developer stated that they're apparently currently taking requests for new maps, and should players have any ideas, they should voice them on the game's official forums. This comes after many players have expressed boredom with playing the Sinai Desert map, the only map available on the open beta, over and over. There seem to be no guarantees, however, with the end of the beta coming really close.

The single Sinai Desert map was deployed to perhaps show off the astounding capabilities of "Battlefield 1." Since the map is very massive and can be played by a total of either 32 players or 64 players, the fighting is contained in several areas on the map, players could choose from a host of different classes to play as, and with a dynamic weather engine and an armored train factor, every game could feel vastly different from a previous one. However, it probably really doesn't help that you only get one map to play in for a week.

The "Battlefield 1" open beta ends this Thursday, September 8. DICE has revealed a special dog tag that players can earn if they play in the beta for four separate days and reach rank 15 in the process, which can be seen here. "Battlefield 1" will be dropping on October 21 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
