Otaku Kart reports that Niantic has finally confirmed that the much-anticipated Pokemon Trade feature is totally happening. A Reedit user named r/TheSilphRoad was able to read the updated Terms of Service of the "Pokemon GO" game.

There, r/TheSilphRoad was able to notice that there is an added Trading section in the "Pokemon GO" Terms of Service. Niantic wrote that "Pokemon GO" players are free to trade and acquire items from other players but these things are not allowed to be sold, exchanged or transferred for real money, services or goods.

Niantic has also stated that "Pokemon GO" players should only obtain items without the use of third-party apps or other means that are not authorized by the game company. If caught doing illegitimate activities, "Pokemon GO" players' account will be deactivated right away.

Though Niantic has not yet announced this officially, "Pokemon GO" players can now start rejoicing as the Pokemon Trade is really going to happen. However, at this point, fans should keep their fingers crossed until it has been finalized and formally launched.
