Nerlens Noel and Jahlil Okafor are two Philadelphia 76ers players that are always linked in NBA trade controversy. The two big men find themselves on the edge of trading to other teams in the league and, recently, a rumor broke out the San Antonio Spurs is interested in Nerlens Noel as a defensive anchor.
Since Tim Duncan announced his retirement in the game of basketball, the San Antonio Spurs are in need of players to fill in the shoes of Duncan. One particular big man being linked to the trade rumor is Philadelphia 76ers' Nerlens Noel. According to Sportsrageous, Spurs already acquired Pau Gasol to replace Duncan but the team still needs more centers to fill the gap and the report claims Nerlens Noel can make a difference in the team.
Recently, the GM of the 76ers admitted in an interview that the team wants to dispose one of their centers, which means Nerlens Noel could be traded to the Spurs. According to reports, if San Antonio Spurs would really want to add Nerlens Noel as part their roster, the Spurs can send Kyle Anderson along with their first round pick to the Philadelphia 76ers. The 76ers need players who can keep up with the pace of their young roster and Anderson, along with the first draft pick of the Spurs, can do that.
However, some speculations suggest that San Antonio Spurs is highly unlikely a destination for Nerlens Noel. But, as mentioned above, it is also possible. Aside from the Spurs, Cleveland Cavaliers and the Brooklyn Nets are also interested in adding Noel to their roster.
