'Red Dead Redemption 2' Release Date, News & Updates: Is A Sequel Really Happening? New Flyer Goes Viral; Hints At November Launch

For several years, gamers have been waiting for Rockstar Games to announce "Red Dead Redemption 2." Some speculate that the game developer will finally announce "Red Dead Redemption 2" at the PlayStation Meeting in New York in September 2016.

Some of the possible titles that gamers expect Rockstar to introduce at the New York event include a remastered version of "Red Dead Redemption," "Red Dead Redemption 2" and "Red Dead Retribution." A flyer for "Red Dead Retribution" recently surfaced, stating that it will be released on Nov. 18, 2016. VG247 noted, however, that the "Red Dead Retribution" is most likely fake. The font and promotional art are not difficult to copy. The art presented is also different from Rockstar's traditional layout. The close release date also gave "Red Dead Redemption 2" fans more reason to believe that the flyer is a hoax.

The "Red Dead Retribution" flyer featured a Native American woman wielding a pistol and carrying a bow and quiver of arrows over her shoulder. She had her back towards viewers, although she looks over her shoulders, revealing her painted face. The art was generally in black and red color, which is consistent with classic "Red Dead" art. However, promotional materials for previous titles, and most likely for "Red Dead Redemption 2," only present side quest characters and elements.

If the poster turns out to be real, gamers should not expect the woman to be the main protagonist. iTechPost stated that "Red Dead Redemption 2" failed to make an appearance at E3 2016. However, fans are still optimistic that Take-Two Initiative, the parent company of Rockstar, will unveil some new games in New York, including "Red Dead Redemption 2." There were rumors that "Red Dead Redemption 2" was supposed to be featured at E3, but Rockstar decided to postpone for unknown reasons.

Other reports say that "Red Dead Redemption 2" will showcase a brand new map, huge storyline and characters. It may launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, although there are also talks that the game may be exclusive to the upcoming PS4 Neo. More updates and details are expected soon.
