'No Man's Sky' Release Date, News & Updates: Hello Games Promises Improvements, Expanded Universe In Next DLCs

After being branded by many as the most hotly anticipated game for 2016, it appears that "No Man's Sky" was unable to escape the inevitable backlash. One big reason why many players have become disappointed with the game is that while it offers and almost endless exploration of 18 quintillion planets, the patterns actually get repetitive. While this may be the unfortunate case for game that could have been one of the biggest in its time, the developers are far from done with their masterpiece.

Games Radar reports that the developer has been listening closely to feedback, which is very likely in response to what happened last week regarding buyers asking for refunds. It has also been mentioned that a support management team is now working closely and continuously to fix bugs and issues in order of priority. After those bugs and issues get fixed, the studio says that they will be releasing free updates for every player of the game to enjoy.

BGR reports that the developer has already released four patches a piece for both PC and PS4 since the game launched on August 9. The game is also more significantly stable now that it was when it was first released in fact, 90% of crash issues have already been fixed. While the game has been improving at a very rapid rate, the developer has no plans of slowing down as they continue to improve the space exploring game for all.

The team says in a recent blog post that "We're developers, and our focus is first on resolving any issues people have with the game as it is, then on future free updates which will improve, expand and build on the No Man's Sky universe." That only means that not only are new features going to be added, but the 18 quintillion planet universe which is home of the game looks like it is about to get even larger.

Managing director Sean Murray confirms that there will be an added ability to build bases and own giant space freighters. Once the main bugs and issues have been fixed, players of the game can expect a host of new features to be rolling out the next minute.
