Apple iOS To Get First Crack At Highly Anticipated Nintendo Mobile Game ‘Super Mario Run.’

Nintendo has been a household name in console gaming for decades and now it has finally decided to make the jump to mobile gaming with the announcement of "Super Mario Run" during the launch of Apple's latest smartphone the iPhone 7 on Wednesday.

According to Mashable, no less than the creator of "Super Mario" himself, director Shigeru Miyamoto made the appearance on Apple's stage to tell the world that the game console giant has finally decided to join the mobile gaming wars. The first title set for release is from the iconic "Super Mario" brand that will join the endless runner genre of mobile games.

In the same post by Mashable, "Super Mario Run" will feature a game landscape that prominently displays classic stages from the original "Super Mario" games. But as Miyamoto described in his introduction of the game, it will be much simpler to control.

Since Mario will be constantly running and players need only tap the screen to make him jump over obstacles and enemy characters. Miyamoto joked, "It's the first time you play a Mario game with one hand, so you can play while riding the subway, eating a hamburger, or eating an apple."

According to Wired, "Super Mario Run" will have two game modes that fans of the Italian plumber can enjoy. The first one will task players to collect as much coins as they can as they speed up towards every level's finish line.

While for those eager to battle it out with other gamers, the second mode finds players pitted against one another in a match to see who gets the biggest points for aerobatic moves. The game is reportedly following the premium game business model which allows for free download of "Super Mario Run" with in-game purchases.
