‘Pokemon GO’ Gen 2 Latest News & Updates: New Evolutions, 100 Pokemon Coming To The Game?

Niantic has big plans for the "Pokemon Go" Gen 2 update. There are rumors that 100 new Pokemon will arrive, while several others will have new evolved forms.

Since "Pokemon Go" launched in July 2016, the total active users have been dropping steadily. Niantic hopes that the "Pokemon Go" Gen 2 update will entice previous and new players. Current trainers are advised to start saving Candies to prepare for the new evolutions when the new content arrives. International Business Times noted that the "Pokemon Go" Gen II creatures that will feature new evolved forms are Golbat into Crobat, Gloom into Bellossom, Slowpoke into Slowking and Poliwhirl into Politoed. The upcoming content will also allow Onix to evolve into Steelix, Seadra into Kingdra, Chansey into Blissey, Porygon into Porygon2 and Scyther into Scizor.

Eevee will have two new evolutions in "Pokemon Go" soon, namely Umbreon and Espeon. Umbreon is a dark-type Pokemon, while Espeon is psychic-type. Some of the new evolutions are third stage, so evolving into the new forms will require anywhere between 50 and 100 Candies. According to Ranked Boost, there will also be several new Pokemon coming in "Pokemon Go" Gen 2. Included in the list are Totodile, Chikorita, Sentret, Cyndaquil, Ledyba, Hoothoot, Chinchou, Spinarak, Cleffa, Togepi, Pichu, Marill and Igglybuff. "Pokemon Go" Gen 2 will reportedly introduce Baby Pokemon, such as Elekid, Pichu, Smoochum and Tyrorogue.

The new "Pokemon Go" Gen 2 update is said to bring 100 new Pokemon and over 86 new moves. If these prove to be true, "Pokemon Go" will already have about 251 Pokemon. Players will have to strategize which creatures they need to upgrade first, depending on their objectives and environment.

"Pokemon Go" is also set to introduce the new Buddy System feature, where trainers can pick one Pokemon that will appear in their avatar. They can gain Candies by walking with their preferred companion. "Pokemon Go" Gen 2 is also believed to feature the new Trading System, Legendary Pokemon and new items. Niantic has yet to announce the official release date of "Pokemon Go" Gen 2. More updates and details are expected soon.
