'Super Mario Run' Release Date, News & Update: iPad, iPhones On iOS 8.0 Up Can Have Game; iTunes Listing Up, BUT No 'Get' Button Yet

"Super Mario Run" will be playable on iPad and iPhones that run on iOS 8.0 or above. The game is also reportedly listed on iTunes Stores, but rather than the Get button, it comes with a Notify button, which means the gamers can choose  email or push notification in order to receive alert when it is formally launched for iOS devices.

"Super Mario Run" is coming soon to Android and iOS devices. The announcement was made by Apple CEO Tim Cook and Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto at the Apple iPhone 7 launch event on Sept. 7.

The upcoming "Super Mario Run" is a 2D isometric game that deals with climbing levels and collecting coins, which seems to be an endless runner game playable by just tapping the screen. By pressing the screen long enough, Mario will be allowed to jump higher.

The "Super Mario Run" game can also be single-handedly played since the players are not required to move Mario. According to reports, the game will also provide three gaming modes.

"Super Mario Run" first mode will give the players some challenging courses, while the second mode will allow them to enter the multiplayer session and compete against their friends. In the third mode, the players can make their own Mushroom Kingdom, and can be played by the use of coins collected in the previous two modes, Forbes reported.

While the "Super Mario Run" has been confirmed to come to iOS devices in December this year, it will not come for free. There are rumors that the game may have purchasable content.

Although there was no mention of the game's Android version, Nintendo eventually announced that the "Super Mario Run" will be playable in Android devices some time in the future. This means that the game would likely come to Android upon its official release for iOS or may be sold by early 2017, Yibada reported.
