Chris Bosh: 'I'm Ready for Miami Heat in 2016-17 NBA season,' Blood Thinners Can Put His Life in Danger

Pending medical clearance to play for 2016-17 NBA season, Chris Bosh asserts that he is up for another Miami Heat challenge. Bosh suffers from blood clot affecting proper circulation in his veins.

Chris Bosh left the last two NBA seasons prematurely because of lungs and calf problems that resulted from blood clots. However, the Miami Heat forward said that he recovered in time for the training camp that was scheduled for Sept 27.

What bothers Bosh right now is the pending medical clearance from the squad. After all, it is not the physical "guess" of the player who will count but the team physician's medical certificate.

To qualify for the green light, Bosh said that he is doing his part to perform well based on doctor's recommendations. Bosh is optimistic about his health condition. However, it is not yet clear if he will be allowed to participate in all Miami Heat outings, Sun Sentinel said. He can start slow in the 2016-17 NBA opener while building up his condition for regular season.

Meanwhile, the Heat is sketchy about letting Bosh play. Pat Riley spoke in a press conference in July that the franchise is after Bosh's welfare although he is very welcome to play for the squad again.Considering the fluidity of the situation, Riley admits that nothing is sure yet. Then there is also an issue about who has the final nod to let Bosh play, according to SB Nation.

To recall, blood clotting in Bosh's body jeopardized his NBA career since May. Team doctors and his personal physicians agreed to halt blood thinners because of uncertain effects to the athlete.

There are reports though that Miami Heat is considering this option again after careful study of an ice hockey player who went through this treatment and was able to return to active play. The problem is, there is a lack of other supporting cases to quantify success rate of blood thinners.
