iPhone 8, Microsoft Surface Phone 2017 Release Date, News & Update: Upcoming Smartphones to Battle Out Next Year With Incredible Specs & Features

Apple iPhone 8 may be released on the company's flagship device's 10th anniversary and the Microsoft Surface Phone 2017 is expected to replace the Lumia smartphone series, probably in October. However, tech experts believe that it would be released only in 2017. If that's the case, the iPhone 8 and Microsoft Surface Phone will clash and it will be a fight to behold.

If certain reports are to be believed, the Microsoft Surface Phone may come with a fingerprint detector, reports techradar. Apple iPhone 8 is also expected to have this feature. A recent leaked patent suggested that the Surface Phone's fingerprint scanner may be embedded in the display.

Now that the fingerprint scanning technology has almost become mainstream, Microsoft will not only implement the feature in its Microsoft Surface Phone 2017 but also bring incredible upgrades to it, more so to complete with Apple iPhone 8. The company is aiming for advanced high-tech identity scanning features for the Surface Phone.

Microsoft may already be developing an onscreen fingerprint scanner in Microsoft Surface Phone 2017 but Apple iPhone 8 won't be left behind. The Apple flagship is reportedly implementing the same feature in its iPhone 8. The iOS-based device is also expected to have an all-glass body and the physical Home button totally removed, writes iTech Post.

There are rumors that the Apple iPhone 8 will also come with a come with a curved-screen variant. This feature may not be adopted by Microsoft Surface Phone 2017 though.

According to International Business Times, an AMOLED display and wireless charging technology may be implemented in the iPhone 8. It will be interesting to see how the AirPods fair. Some enthusiasts even expect a 3D camera. 3D or not, the dual-lens camera may pave way for exciting new features. The Microsoft Surface Phone 2017  may have a 5.7-inch touch screen and a 2K resolution. It is may also sport a Snapdragon 830 processor and a 20MP rear camera with Carl Zeiss lens.
