GoPro Hero5 Release Date, News & Update: Hero5 Black and Hero5 Session Raise Action Camera Stakes
GoPro finally unveiled the much awaited GoPro Karma Drone but that was of course not the only one who took the spotlight recently. Also unveiled were the company’s highly anticipated action cameras – the GoPro Hero5 Black and Hero5 Session.
As one would expect, GoPro has applied the necessary improvements to the new line of action cameras. Headlining the new features for the latest GoPro Hero5 cameras is the improved waterproofing and the voice-control feature.
The GoPro Hero5 Black up and close
The latest GoPro flagship is the Hero5 Black. The device now boasts of a 2-inch touchscreen to go with GPS and a 12 MP sensor. It carries on the same features of the Hero4 with the ability to shoot 4K videos at 30 fps.
The GoPro Hero5 Session won't disappoint
The other GoPro action camera is the Hero5 session, that does away with some of the features the GoPro Hero5 Black has to offer. It doesn’t come with a display, GPS and RAW support. Still around for the Hero5 Session is voice-control support and being waterproof good for up to 33 feet.
Both GoPro Hero5 action cameras are compatible with existing mounts so no need to shell out extra cash to get one especially for them. Other common features that the GoPro Hero5 Black and Hero5 Session have to offer include electronic image stabilization and the voice support which offers support for up to seven languages.
Additionally, potential GoPro Hero5 owners can avail of the subscription service which allows users to easily upload their shots to a cloud. The cloud storage service is optional and something that will require individuals to shell out $5 after a one-month trial.
Preliminary reviews have come out and some have taken a swipe at the quality of the images taken by the GoPro Hero5 , particularly the Session model. Then again, it may depend on the manner of shooting and adjustments made on the action cams.
