Logitech Release Date, News & Update: Buys $13 Million Saitek For Hardcore Game Fanbase; Logitech G213 Gaming Keyboard At $69.99 Is Every Gamer’s Wish Come True!
Logitech says Saitek's huge fan base in hardcore games like "Eve: Valkyrie" and "Elite: Dangerous" will open an opportunity in the growing market, given some VR-enabled game titles. The company believes that loyal controllers are going to improve and stimulate the entire VR experience.
Logitech has confirmed acquiring Saiteck company that manufactures game controllers for the simulation games. Based on reports, the computer peripheral vendor seems to focus on the game segment where most of the people in the gaming world are raving on VR.
Logitech's acquisition has reportedly cost around $13 million, and is expected to give the company the leverage to get the sim-style gaming industry. The company also sees the acquisition being able to increase the existing stable of peripherals it creates under the high-performance gaming Logitech G portfolio, including a range of gaming wheels for driving sims.
The latest Logitech acquisition has also raised some doubts, given the fact that Saitek has been bought by Mad Catz in 2007 for $30 million. According to reports, the notable decrease in valuation since then is due to the declining quality of devices from Saitek. However, it is not clear yet how this will have an impact on Logitech, which has declined from giving any statement regarding this issue, Tech Times reported.
Meanwhile, Logitech G213 Prodigy Gaming Keyboard that costs $69.99 is an entry-level gaming keyboard that has some of the features, which gamers are looking for. Its design makes it look like a regular PC keyboard with tall keycaps and complete keyset features.
Logitech G213 Prodigy comes with a measure of 8.6 by 17.8 by 1.3 inches and weighs at 2.4 pounds. There are also two adjustable feet found on the bottom of the keyboard to allow users to tilt the front edge for ease.
The Logitech G213 Prodigy Gaming Keyboard is available starting from $80 up to $120 for online or in retail stores, PCMag reported. Watch Logitech Acquire Saitek | Flight Simulator News
