Now survive the post-apocalyptic world in "I Am Alive." This game offers a nice storyline where the protagonist braves the almost inhabitable world in search for his missing wife and daughter. Yes, the plot may not be unique but take the good rating as an argument that "I Am Alive" is a good candidate for Games with Gold. Game Spot classified this title under "great" category with score of 8.
"Alan Wake" is a good mix of horror, thriller and action so this could be a top bet. Think of a talented writer protagonist whose wife mysteriously disappears. "Alan Wake" left no stones unturned in his search but the complication came when a book coincides with his every move. If there are Alans reading out there, please tell Microsoft that you need to save your love and unravel the mysterious book this October at Games with Gold.
