‘The Sims 4: City Living’ DLC Release Date, News & Update: Gameplay Details, Features Revealed! Watch Official Trailer

After months of speculation, Electronic Arts finally confirmed the existence of a new expansion pack for "The Sims 4." The game is slated to release in November and it will take players and their Sims to a different world. Titled "The Sims 4: City Living," close to the previously rumored title "City Life," the new DLC will feature the hilly, coastal city of San Myshuno.

Game producers have been regularly posting details about "The Sims 4: City Living," giving fans an idea on what to expect from the expansion. Some of the features are familiar as they are found on previous DLCs like "Apartment Life" and "Late Night." But, there are also fresh features that fans have never seen before.

For one, SimsGuruJM posted on Twitter this week revealing that "The Sims 4: City Living" players can change the traits of their apartment lot, just like how one would normally assign a specific trait on his or her Sim. "You can set the traits on any lot! Up to 3. Cheap apartments have certain traits locked from the get-go however, such as cursed or filthy," the post read.

Players can also pick specific families to become their neighbors. Several families can live in an apartment building, just like how players can create Sim neighbors in the original game. These apartment building neighbors in "The Sims 4: City Living" can also visit the player's unit; as what SimsGuruJM revealed, the neighbors may even drop by if they smell something awesome is cooking. SimGuruEugi further explained the concept of the apartment in the official Sims forum. "There are up to four apartments per building. All those apartments are playable. You can move in/move out of them, and they can be inhabited by NPCs. You can interact with your neighbors by knocking on their door and whatnot."

What's not doable in the upcoming expansion is building an apartment from scratch or moving them to different worlds. This has been cleared up by Sim Guru Daniel Hiatt, although it's possible to edit the interiors inside the apartment. Watch the trailer of "The Sims 4: City Living" below. The expansion will be available on Nov. 3.
