Maintenance Over, PlayStation Network Back Online, Now Accepts PayPal

After three delays, maintenace has finally been completed on the PlayStation Network, making it possible for gamers to sign back and play online to their hearts content.

"PSN maintenance completed early this morning, thanks for your patience. PlayStation Store, apps and online play are back in business!" read a Tweet from Sony, informing gamers.

Originally planned to only last from Thursday morning to that evening, it was announced that maintenance would continue into Friday morning. Then Friday evening. Oddly, Sony never specified what was causing the need for continued maintenance, which caused many fans a fair amount of displeasure.

Thankfully, that's all over now, clearing the way for fans to grab the albeit delayed, but now finally available Nuketown Zombies map for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.

Making things even easier for players to add money to their online wallets, PlayStation Network users in North America can now use PayPal to fund their wallets online through Sony Entertainment Network.

It's not clear if the service's addition was likely not related to the extended maintenance period.

Already available in Europe, the option requires gamers to log into the Sony Entertainment Network website, click "add funds to wallet" through the account management screen, and follow the directions from there to fill their PlayStation piggie banks.
