MacBook 2016 Release Date, Latest News & Update: Air, Pro 2016 Variants Debuting Together?

The MacBook Pro 2016 is seen as the one essentially coming in Q4 but an analyst believes that there is a good chance that Apple will debut both notebooks before 2016 comes to a close.

The dish comes from Rhoda Alexander, Director Tablet and Notebook PCs of IHS Markit Technology. In an interview with Forbes, she bares how production for the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air started as early as the second quarter of 2016.

Included in the planned refreshes are a 13.3-inch and 15.4-inch variant for the MacBook Pro while the MacBook Air will be a 13.3-inch model. Their group has reportedly monitored the progress and claim that the devices should be out by either September or October 2016.

What Intel is inside the MacBooks?

The thing here is that September is ending this week and that other her dishes for the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air seem outdated. Glaring was the call on the what processor could be in use, referencing to the Intel Skylake processor.

Alexander’s stake could make sense if Apple did indeed start production for the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air back in the second quarter. But then again, the Cupertino company can always delay the release and inject the preferred Kaby Laker processors which are in transit or may have already landed already.

Assuming that Apple does release the MacBook Pro with an Intel Skylake processor, Forbes further adds that it could be possible to include options for an AMD Polaris GPU. For now, that remains to be seen.

Are both really coming out simultaneously?

Apple has a couple of options moving forward for their devices. The MacBook Pro 2016 may initially come out though questions surrounding the processor in use remain, Bloomberg reported.

The MacBook Air is something that was rumored to be coming in March 2017 so it is more than possible that it will come with a Kaby Lake processor, as mentioned in a previous report. Hence it may all boil down to what is going on in production of the Apple devices which may very well dictate what processors and when they officially see the light of day.
