Fans of the brutal and gory latest instalment in the Mortal Kombat franchise have been waiting for quite some time for the Kombat Pack 3 release. Since "Mortal Kombat X" had been released in 2015, there had been two Kombat Packs that were made available that gave four new characters to the game. All in all, there are now eight new characters that players of the game can enjoy on top of the initial character list on the game's first release.

JBH News reports that "Mortal Kombat X" co-creator Ed Boon teased his followers regarding the release of Kombat Pack 3. There, he jokingly posted a meme which made fans speculate about the likelihood of a third Kombat Pack coming into fruition. Other than that, it is said that other versions of the game will be coming out which will include "Mortal Kombat XL."

However, there is yet no assurance as of this moment that the "Mortal Kombat X" Kombat Pack 3 will have a release date soon. Reports say that the Kombat Pack 3's release might even be delayed because developer NetherRealm Studios is currently prioritizing another project: "Injustice 2." With this, the release of Kombat Pack 3 might come out when the second instalment in DC's Injustice will be done and is set to be launched.

GamenGuide reports that "Mortal Kombat X" has been a very huge success since its release and is currently being played by millions of players all over the world. With its success comes their players asking for even more content which is why players are already anticipating the release date of the Kombat Pack 3.

It is also reported that Ed Boon made a poll through Twitter that asks what gamers would want next: "Injustice 2," "Kombat Pack 3," or Shaolin Monks 2." The upcoming downloadable content of "Mortal Kombat X" might include some familiar characters from the franchise which include, Rain, Baraka, Noob Saibot, Fujin and Sindel. The earlier Kombat Packs included characters that are not even Mortal Kombat characters which include Hollywood horror classic characters including Leatherface and Jason Voorheese.
