Hitman: HD Trilogy Out Tomorrow, Gets a Launch Trailer

For those who loved Hitman: Absolution, but have run through the game, and bested all their buddies' custom contracts, tomorrow's your chance to see where 47 came from, and his penchant for trusting nuns.

As a triple pack containing Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, Hitman: Contracts, and Hitman: Blood Money, Hitman: HD Trilogy is a nice bit of nostalgia. Three games at $40 isn't too shabby either. Fans may notice the absence of the first Hitman game, Hitman: Codename 47, but Contracts contains a good majority of that game's missions, without completely delving into the storyline.

A press release when the game was first announced describes: "For the very first time experience over forty incredible missions across three classic Hitman Games, all presented in glorious HD. Whether you're a long-time fan or new to the franchise, this is the opportunity to take on the contracts that defined the series and fully established Agent 47 not only as a pop culture icon, but also as the World's Ultimate Assassin."

True, however, apart from the revised graphics in HD and an art book, no new features have been announced, so fans familiar with 47's legacy should pass. But for gamers who've somehow manage to miss playing as the barcoded baldy, it's a worthy investment.

Many of Absolution's features, like Instinct, are notably absent, giving players a bit more challenge. I wish all of you the best of luck making your way through Hitman 2 with a silent assassin ranking. That game was particularly unforgiving.

Initially offered as a bonus those who pre-ordered Absolution, those who didn't were left out in the cold for this particular mini-game. But now, players will get their chance, as "HITMAN: HD TRILOGY also includes HITMAN: SNIPER CHALLENGE, the stand-alone sniper experience." Only problem? "Items unlocked in this version of the HITMAN: SNIPER CHALLENGE are not transferable to any other game," so keep that in mind.

Hitman: HD Trilogy is scheduled for release in North America on Jan. 29, 2013, and across Europe on Feb. 1, 2013, for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
