Microsoft Surface Pro 5 Release Date, News & Update: Microsoft Cozying Up to Intel Kaby Lake Architecture? Impressive Specs & Features Revealed

The highly-anticipated device Microsoft Surface Pro 5 may not arrive in October. In fact, it probably won't arrive this year. Unconfirmed reports have claimed that Microsoft is delaying the release of Surface Pro 5 primarily because of two reasons - Intel Kaby Lake processors and Windows 10 Redstone 2 update.

As per International Business Times, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is expected to boast some revolutionary specs and that would include 16GB RAM, Ultra HD 4K display and 16MP rear/8MP front cameras. However, Mobile & Apps believes that as the Surface Pro 4 too has a 16GB RAM, a possible RAM upgrade can well be in the works.

It has been reported by Tech Radar that Microsoft won't be releasing the tablet until and unless it has made itself comfortable with the Intel Kaby Lake's 14-nanometer architecture. Microsoft has already filed a patent for a rechargeable Surface Pen and dock. The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 may come with the Surface Pen that can be recharged via the lightning port.

The USB Type-C port may also be included in Microsoft Surface Pro 5. It has been reported that Microsoft will hold an event in October to release the rumored all-in-one PC. It is also expected to unveil the revamped Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book.

If rumors are to be believed, Microsoft's all-in-one PC will turn user desktops into studios. Fans are expecting the Redmond-based company to at least announce the Microsoft Surface Pro 5. However, even that seems unlikely. It is pretty frustrating as Microsoft has not mentioned anything about the device nor released any official information on the same.

The anticipation about the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 seems to be building up and Microsoft cannot leave any stone unturned to ensure the device does not bomb when released. Hence, only the best specs are being incorporated so that users have the best of features.
