TorrentHound Voluntarily Shut Down; Here are the top 7 'Not Terrible Places Left for Torrents!'
TorrentHound could no longer run for use. TorrentHound is considered one of the top 10 best Torrent websites. According TorrentHound's founder, it shutdown voluntarily.
As previously reported by University Herald, the voluntary shutdown was caused by lack of interest from the team. This means that three of the ten most visited torrent sites listed at the beginning of 2016 are now offline. The first two to shutdown were Torrentz and KickassTorrents.
According to Torrent Freak has been of service for almost a decade. It was founded in 2007. Aside from the lack of interest from the team, the shutdown could also be due to other factors. Even though TorrentHound has millions of views per month, it did not equal the status of Torrentz, The Pirate Bay, and KAT.
Moreover, TorrentHound became the target of various industry complaints over the years and has experiences of being blocked in several countries. Sources suggests that the shutdown was also be associated to less revenue from less traffic, unpaid bills, and anxiety from constant bugging of anti-piracy agents.
After TorrentHound was shutdown, it sent over an e-mail which says "Finito." "Finito" is an Italian word meaning "finished." It was the end for TorrentHound, indeed. TorrentHound's shutdown would mean more traffic and more income for The Pirate Bay and Extra Torrents.
The top 10 list of best Torrent websites is now down to seven. As expected, The Pirate Bay and Extra Torrents placed on the top. To date, The Pirate Bay is considered the most resilient Torrent site and is even dubbed as the "Godfather of All Torrents." Founded in 2003, The Pirate Bay has been around for more than a decade now.
The remaining seven from the original top 10 best Torrent websites are now tagged as "not terrible places left for torrents." The seven are the following - thepiratebay.org, extratorrent.cc, 1337x.to, rarbg.to, torrentdownloads.me, yourbittorent.com, and torrentproject.se.
